Why the Name Legacy?
After much prayer and seeking God’s will, it became clear towards the end of 2020 that God was opening the doors for us to start a new church in Springfield. We had around a dozen people committed to the idea and willing to jump in with this church start-up. We began brainstorming names, settling on “Legacy Community Church”.
“Legacy” because of the rich inheritance we have through Christ, but also for the ripple effect that our individual gospel-centered, intentional living should have on those around us.
“Community” because we need the fellowship of other believers to be whole. When this works well in a healthy church, it places us in the best position to focus on serving and impacting our local community outside the “walls” of our meeting place.

The Logo
The arrow darts on the logo represent days past and days to come with Christ as the center of it all. Our future is forever changed because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Because of this hope, we share the Good News with others. One changed life will ripple into another, touching the lives of many generations to come! This is our legacy!
A Place of Hope and Refuge
We acknowledge life can be hard and full of trials. Christians are not excluded from pain and sorrow. It is our desire that Legacy Community Church becomes a source of hope and refuge for both the vibrant and weary Christian, but also the lost seeker looking for a better way.
Purpose
Legacy Community Church exists so that its members, both individually and corporately, can glorify God by exalting the Creator, evangelizing the sinner, equipping the believer, exemplifying the Savior, and encouraging the saint. We seek to accomplish this by emphasizing the need for our people to be balanced in our goals, obedient in our methods, creative in our thinking, and active in our service.

Legacy Community Church History Summary
The first official service was held on January 10, 2021, with a group of individuals sharing a common interest to establish a body of believers united in worship with a passion to show Christ to our communities. The first six months laid out the groundwork and vision for this local church before calling for charter membership in the summer of 2021. With the desire to see the Gospel bring about redemptive change in our community, we strive to offer a place of hope and refuge.
